Medication Policy

🏥

We are committed to ensuring the safe, effective, and responsible management of medication for all service users receiving care. All medications administered or supported by our staff must be prescribed by a registered medical practitioner and approved for use in Sri Lanka. Medication support is provided according to each individual's care plan and may range from reminders and prompting to direct administration by appropriately trained and competency-assessed staff. Accurate Medication Administration Records (MAR) are maintained to ensure accountability, safety, and continuity of care, while all medication information is handled confidentially in accordance with data protection requirements. Special precautions are taken when managing controlled drugs, with strict recording, storage, and authorisation procedures in place. Through robust training, clear protocols, and adherence to national healthcare standards, we aim to minimise medication-related risks and promote the wellbeing of every service user.

Infection Control

🦠

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of infection prevention and control to protect the health and wellbeing of our service users, staff, and the wider community. All care activities are carried out in accordance with current Ministry of Health infection prevention and control guidelines, with a strong emphasis on effective hand hygiene, the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe management of waste, laundry, food, and bodily fluid spills. Staff are trained to recognise and respond promptly to signs of infection, follow standard infection control precautions at all times, and report any suspected infectious diseases in line with local health authority requirements. During outbreaks of communicable diseases, enhanced infection control measures are implemented in accordance with Ministry of Health directives to minimise the risk of transmission and ensure the continued safety of those receiving and providing care.
